SYNOPSIS:

We look back at the highlights of Luke Nguyen’s acclaimed series Luke’s Food Trail, which documents several busy weeks in his life as a restaurateur and businessman balancing ventures in Australia and abroad while making time for his young family. Luke explains how growing up in the Sydney suburb of Cabramatta and working in his family’s restaurant led him to a career in food, before getting back on the tools at his own restaurant, Red Lantern, to serve some menu specials. He then travels to Queensland to fish for spanner crab and heads to the Blue Mountains of New South Wales for a break from the long days in the kitchen. Luke catches up with his friend Chase Kojima, head chef at Sydney’s Sokyo restaurant, who prepares a magnificent kingfish dish. Next, Luke travels to Vietnam to explore the local street-food scene and reconnect with his mother, aunt and Australian head chef, showing them what eating and drinking in Saigon is all about before opening the biggest restaurant in Vietnam. His journey then continues to Hong Kong, where he visits his brother Leroy at his restaurant, Moi Moi, sources exceptional seafood and prepares a magnificent tiger prawn dish. To finish, Luke and his family dine at one of Hong Kong’s most famous and vibrant eateries.
